Cornpone Opinions

Sinclair Lewis said that it’s difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it. Miles’ law puts it a little differently, but comes to the same conclusion–where you stand depends on where you sit. I was raised on Twain, so I always liked his take: You tell me where a man gits his corn-pone, and I’ll tell you what his ‘pinions is.

This is where I plan to come to work through cornpone opinions–mine and those of folks around me–to see how they hold up. I hope to look at politics (Petrified Opinions) and organized religion (Soul Butter and Hogwash).

It’s not cornpone, but it’s close enough–eating corn chips and buttermilk to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
